olesleygettinghealthy asked: I saw your post about your grades in college; and I saw that you took Psychology of Women. I'm taking Psychology of Women(as well as Intro to Womens Studies and ENG101) this fall as a high school junior. What kinda things did you learn about in Psych of Women? What kinds of things were your notes on? I'm really nervous about going into college and I'm trying to get a feel of what I should expect. Any thing would be appreciated :)
Well psychology of women basically talks about the ways in which men and women differ in the ways that they experience similar situations. In a nutshell, being a women is different because there are things that women experience that differ qualitatively from that of men. We talked about sexism, oppression either socially or economically, and we also talked about women of color and how their experiences differ from white women. It’s a phenomenal course! I hope you enjoy it! And don’t be nervous about college. It IS a transition but you will be JUST FINE! :)
